Sequential Practice

 I really enjoyed the collage experimental process as well as the opportunity to work ingroups that we had not been earlier on the course. The challenge of both working with dragon frame - a software we had not worked with before- and having to work with materials we hadn't prepared begore hand was a learning experience in itself for this experiment.

 When experimenting with the cell project I had some struggle with the clarity of the cell after the acrylic smudged which made it difficult to get the best production from this experimentation.  I compensated this by adjusting the cells in the final stage of animation editing though I feel that the whole thing could be improved upon still..

For the zine project, I decided to take a 'how to' structured pamphlet look. I wanted the zine to sport a character in the foreground that I could render digitally and would support the printed background of each page.  I also took this as an opportunity to work with a more complimentary, earthy colour pallet to work alongside the natural theme of the zine.

Puppet Project For my puppet project, I took inspiration from my Christmas observation project.  Studying my grandfather and his influence on our community. Along with this, the play on the 'grandfather' clock figure leant itself nicely to the study.   W hen creating the dimensions and creating my puppet, I had to design him in a way different to the other puppets which hindered his mobility and expressions in the long run I feel. After setting and baking sculpie around the tinfoil and wire skeleton, I was able to use a drill to add removable arms to the armature to compensate for the lack of expression from the other parts of the character. When designing my set, I was going for a more clinical look from an elderly home perspective as the secondary character to my puppet is primarily there to serve the narrative of my character being an escort to the after life.
